Presentation of CIRC4Life project at the World Circular Economy Forum 2018

On 22nd October 2018, CIRC4Life coordinator Professor Daizhong Su and Georgios Tsimiklis from ICCS participated in the second edition of the World Circular Economy Forum 2018 (WCEF) taking place in Yokohama (Japan).
They were invited by the European Commission to be a speaker in the side event on innovative solutions for circular services by EU funded projects. It is organised by the EU executive agency for SMEs managing the Horizon 2020 research programme (EASME) . Professor Daizhong will present what CIRC4Life’s aim and its main tasks: to develop 3 business models based in the circular economy in 4 sectors: Domestic and industrial lighting, Computer tablets and vegetables and meat supply chain.
WCEF will present the world’s best circular economy solutions and will bring together 1,000 key thinkers and doers from around the world. WCEF is the global initiative of Finland and the Finnish Innovation Fund Sitra. The WCEF brings together business leaders, policymakers and experts to present the world’s best circular economy solutions. The WCEF examines how businesses can seize new opportunities, gain a competitive advantage through circular economy solutions and how the circular economy contributes to achieving the UN Sustainable Development.
The first forum was organised in Helsinki, Finland in June 2017 with 1,600 participants around 100 countries. More than half of the participants represented businesses.
