CIRC4Life collaboration with Getxo Municipality

24 September, 2019

On September 24th, our partners CIRCE and Indumetal are organising a workshop in Gexto (Spain) in collaboration with the Getxo Municipality, local businesses and citizens.  The objective is to motivate citizens & consumers to collect unused electrical and electronic products (such as tablets or mobile phones) in order to create a collaborative reuse and recycling system.

This is one of the several events organized in the framework of the CIRC4Life research project in order to raise awareness about the concept of Circular Economy and co-create with users a new business models. It will demonstrate, among other things, which actions can be carried by citizen, consumer associations, local commerce and administration to transition from a linear to a Circular Economy.

During the event participants will be discussing the following topics:

  • incentives as a tool to promote the separation of waste collection

  • recognition systems for local businesses and businesses that promote the Circular Economy

  • legislative barriers and possible solutions

  • mechanisms and obstacles that are found on a daily basis to reuse or recycle in Getxo and co-create solutions facilitated by the CIRC4Life project team
